A/N: One day while watching SGA my friend and I made an observation. That observation led to much hilarity and the birth of this fic. :D
Disclaimer: I don't own anyone or anything related to SGA. SADFACE. D:

Thin gossamer strands caught on the fine imperfections in his hand, clinging like a Bounce sheet to his trousers.

God!” Rodney cried disgustedly, flapping his hand out in front of him so fast it was just a blur. “Why the hell is it that everything in two galaxies is covered in spider webs the instant it sits for more than five seconds? Disgusting!”

“Space spiders,” John said knowingly, clearing the cobwebs in his path with the barrel of his P-90.

“Space spiders?” Rodney echoed, derision thick in his voice. “Gee, Colonel, why didn’t I think of that? Oh, I know, because it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.”

Sheppard was unfazed by Rodney’s patronizing snark. “Oh yeah,” he said. “Those little bastards mastered space travel way before any of us. All those legs and eyes? They’re totally aliens. Probably just biding their time.”

“Oh, so now they’re not just space spiders, but space spiders out to dominate the universe? Fantastic. The depth of your insanity never ceases to amaze.”

“It does, in an unsettling way, make some sense,” Teyla admitted, much to Rodney’s horror. “I have seen spider webs even on Wraith Hive Ships.”

“Oh, and that has to mean they’re megolomaniacs bent on controlling the universe, of course,” McKay snapped, taking out another curtain of webs with his flashlight.

“They are ugly,” Ronon pointed out.

“Great! This is just great!” Rodney exclaimed dramatically. “Why is it that I’m the one who gets stuck on the team of complete whackos?

“’Whackos’?” Teyla reiterated carefully, her brow pinching. “I do not think that I—”

Ronon’s gun swung up suddenly, his entire body going tense at a soft skittering sound in the darkness.

“What was that?” Rodney whispered, shrinking behind Sheppard.

“I don’t know,” he muttered warily over his shoulder at the scientist. The skittering sound was now accompanied by a quiet click every few seconds and Sheppard’s eyes widened as something began to emerge from the darkness. “No way…”

A long, hairy leg, the thickness of Rodney’s forearm, came forward, sliding out of the darkness. The glitter of eyes twinkled in the shadows.

It is time…” a voice hissed and tiny little black eight-legged figures streamed out across the walls and floor around them, surrounding them in seconds.

“Oh god,” Rodney whimpered, “You were right.”
